It made me remenber another user that had the same problem on some machines after upgrading to 2016. In his case the solution was to set the 'Custom UI and Default Switcher' (found in the Customize tab) to one of the Desugn Viz templates (NOT Max).If everything is installed correctly, then I'm pretty sure that this should do the job. I've installed SP3 myself without getting this problem. Have you checked if Autodesk Material Libraries are still installed? (Look at Windows list of installed programs). If so, have you tried 'Repair'? If not, then I believe they can be installed without uninstalling (there used to be a separate installer).Hope you get it solved.BTW - The Autodesk Material Library are only available when mr (or IRay?) is selected as active renderer, so make sure SP3 didn't set it Scanline or something else not compatible with Autodesk Material Library.
